{"id":509,"date":"2024-12-17T19:25:27","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T19:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/policies.pstcc.edu\/?page_id=509"},"modified":"2025-02-06T13:53:56","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T13:53:56","slug":"policy-061001","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/policies.pstcc.edu\/?page_id=509","title":{"rendered":"POLICY 06:10:01"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>This policy is consistent with Tennessee Board of Regents Guideline P-115.<\/p>\n<p>Purpose<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this policy is to establish the process and criteria regarding the CertifiedAdministrative Professional Examination for employees at Pellissippi State Community College.<\/p>\n<p>Policy\/Guideline<\/p>\n<ol type=\"I\">\n<li>Procedure\n<ol type=\"A\">\n<li>Employees who work in a clerical-secretarial or clerical-management nonexempt position, as defined by the Office of Human Resources, who pass the Certified Administrative Professional Examination (CAP) shall be granted a nine percent (9%) increase in salary.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Employees must contact the Office of Human Resources regarding eligibility for the increase.<\/li>\n<li>Exempt employees are not eligible for the increase.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>The salary increase shall become effective with the next pay period beginning after the employee&#8217;s passing grade on the examination is certified by the International Association of Administrative Professionals.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>The certification date is on the Candidate Performance Report generated by the IAAP.<\/li>\n<li>It is not the date that the test is administered or the date that the report from IAAP is received.<\/li>\n<li>It is the employee&#8217;s responsibility to provide the appropriate verification to the Human Resources office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>An employee must pass the exam sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals in order to receive the 9% increase.\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Individuals who previously passed the exam and received an increase are not eligible for a subsequent increase for passing the Certified Administrative Professional exam.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Sources:<br \/>TBR Guideline P-115; T.C.A. \u00a7\u00a7 49-8-203; 8-50-102<br \/>Enacted by TBR: November 1, 1988<br \/>Revised by TBR: May 14, 1991<br \/>Revised by TBR: September 19, 1991<br \/>Revised by TBR: August 21, 2007<br \/>Revised by TBR: May 16, 2012<br \/>Editorial Changes, May 21, 2014<br \/>Reviewed\/Recommended: President\u2019s Council, November 27, 2023<br \/>Approved: President L.
