Purpose
This policy defines the process for Pellissippi State Community College employees to obtain a key or proximity card to access approved buildings and/or offices, classrooms, etc.

Procedures

  1. Any faculty or staff member who needs a key or proximity card access for offices or labs should contact the employee’s supervisor.
  2. The employee will initiate a request utilizing the online Key Request Form located in Self Service Banner in the Facilities Services Section. The form will electronically route for approvals based on the access requested. After an appropriate level of approval is obtained, the request will route to the Facilities department for processing.
  3. The approved request will be processed as quickly as possible. Keys/Proximity Card request should be picked up at the Physical Plant Building on the Hardin Valley Campus following email notification. Proximity cards that were not given directly to the employee at the time of issuance, as well as replacement proximity cards, should be picked up at the Physical Plant on the Hardin Valley Campus following email notification.
  4. Keys (not proximity cards) must be returned to Facilities when an employee is no longer employed in order to complete the exit protocol. The Access Control Manager will turn off access to proximity cards effective on the date the employee leaves employment.
